Looking to do some drywall repair and am struggling to match the texture. I am using blue box mud and have mixed it to different consistencies with no success. The thicker I mix the mud the more "veins" I get but the texture depth seems accurate. If I mix it thin I get more even coat but do not have the small runs. Instead it looks like a washed out orange peel. I have tried letting it sit and then rolling gain with a wet roller. I have tried spritzing water. I have tried different length naps. Still unable to get anything close. I am fair confident it is simply rolled on and is fairly thin mud but am unable to get an sort of progress. I live in Houston and have seen the texture used in a variety of places if that helps.Pic1Pic2Pic3I am thinking from searching /diy that maybe the trick is to wet a 3/8 roller with water before rolling a thinner than usual mud. I searched and was unable to find anything on this sub reddit let alone anywhere else on the net for this kind of texture. via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2UxiWXr
