I work at a company that owns a lot of buildings around my city and I was talking to one of the property managers about looking for a place to live. He told me that he can hook me up with office space to live in for next to nothing.
The area is about 20m2, it comes with internet, electricity, a shared kitchenette, shared bathroom facilities, aswell as a gym with a shower that we own on the floor below so the basics are there.
I plan on having a desk/table in the room with a microwave, kettle, electric hotplate, and a beer fridge for my personal "kitchen" aswell as using a fold out couch as my bed.
The office is able to be locked and has opening windows to let fresh air in aswell as 24/7 access.
I estimate that flatting with other people will be about $250 + food per week but with this I'm looking at $50-75 + food per week so the savings are there.
The only downside that I can see is that they are still going to try find a proper Tennant for the office meaning that it won't be a permanent spot. There are always offices available though so I'll just be shuffled to the next one.
Can anyone see any major downsides/ improvements to this?
