Right now i'm looking at purchasing a new vehicle, as i'm driving a 2003 ford ranger with 210,000 miles on it; I don't know how much longer it will last.
I make about ~30k a year, living at home while in college. Only bills are groceries/insurance. I have about 8,000 saved up and my father is suggesting i save up more to buy a 15k~ car from carmax like a kia optima. I was wondering if you guys had any opinions on whether i should go cheaper, or try to buy privately off of craigslist etc. Also i barely drive as it is now, 30 minutes back and forth to work 4 days a week, school online.
