Quick story about the importance of having an emergency fund, even if it is small.
I forgot my keys down in my mailbox because I did not sleep enough and have not for months. I did not even realize this. Someone returned my keys to me that night to which I was very grateful. Except someone stole my fob to swipe into my own apartment building. I called yesterday and no one called me back. So I could not leave last night, when I got home from work luckily someone swiped me in. When I got into the building to swipe, that is when I noticed it was missing. The resident office just called me... $50 for a freaking key fob. I was so mad. But it was my mistake, so I was only mad at myself. My brother sent me $16 for Spotify a few weeks ago and I paid it ahead of time anyway. I had $100 in my efund so I took the rest out of it. It may not seem like a lot, but I am strapped from Christmas and other bills. But thanks to a small savings, I can fix a bad situation I could not otherwise afford right now.
