Wanted to share a screenshot of a spreadsheet I made with the community for anyone looking for ideas when designing their own personal budget. I find it great to visualize my total spending and allocate each category based on what the recommended spend is, as well as seeing the breakdown by week/month/year. Biweekly is helpful for me so I can assign exact amounts for my direct deposit to different accounts (get paid every two weeks). Everything updates as you play with it so it's easy to fine-tune and allocate all of your monthly revenue.
On the right I also have debt breakdowns (car, student loans, etc.), but it contains sensitive information so I am not going to share that.
If anyone has an suggestions for improvement feel free to provide that! Enjoy.
Edit: You can find the spreadsheet for download here. I left the numbers in there so you can see how the formulas work. Let me know if you have any questions! Oh and a few people have asked me how to come up with the numbers. I plug everything into this website. There seems to be one for almost every state, and it allows to deduct taxes, 401k/medical/commuter, as well as taxes and exemptions. It also works for all types of pay periods and exemptions.
