I’m trying to better my diet while staying frugal, and eating at home is a big part of that. I find it most effective to indulge my cravings with something small like hot cocoa, which helps me avoid going out for coffee or sweets. Packets are expensive, and usually have have stupid ingredients like HFCS and palm oil, plus dairy (and my boyfriend is lactose intolerant).
For a big batch, sift together:
- 1/2c cocoa powder
- 2/3c sugar
- 1T vanilla bean powder
- 1t salt
- 1t cinnamon (optional)
Instructions:
- Heat 8oz milk (or alt milk) per serving; I microwaved almond milk is a mug with great success
- Whisk in 2T dry mix per serving
