Hi, I'm really confused and a bit scared. I'm filing my tax return with freetaxusa.com and realised I owe 51k even though I only made 83k? I live in California. I filed with 2 W2 forms which totaled my income at 83k, and a 1099 DIV where my total capital gain distribution is $3. How did I owe 51k? What should I look for? Please help. I've double checked and triple checked and not sure where it went wrong! Everything I entered matches my tax forms.
Update: I went back to turbo tax (I filed with them last year) and it was all good. Only owed 2k. Phew. Still not sure what was wrong with freetaxusa.com, maybe I entered something wrong and didn't figure it out.
