Hi all, I know from what I've seen that this is a community that appreciates value and good quality/price ratios. I'm looking for advice on getting some good everyday shoes. Sneaker-type or flatsoled.
I work in an office and walk around the city for most of my shopping, so we're talking light usage. I want to pay for quality shoes that will last me close to a year, and be comfortable to wear, without paying for the privilege or aesthetic of wearing a certain brand. (Eg. I'm aware many Adidas/Nike shoes sell the name and don't last very long, hence paying for status and not quality.)
I currently wear shoes I got in Lidl for a tenner a few months ago, but they aren't holding up great, and they leak if the ground is any way wet. I'm sick of cheap shoes.
A friend of mine recommends Skechers; that recommendation was echoed by some on this forum, but only on threads from 2 years ago. I also saw complaints that they fall apart after a few months, and since then there's been no mention of them.
Does anyone have recent experience with Skechers? Are they still as durable as they once were, and are they worth the price? I'd appreciate some input on this, or recommendations for brands that work for you guys.
PS. I'm looking for everyday shoes, easy to wear and put on, so don't go on about your Red wings or welted leather work boots.
