I’ve become obsessed with cutting down on waste and spending by ditching one time use items and I’m eager to think of more. What have you managed to stop buying with a wise investment in a reusable product?
For example: -Coffee filters. I cringed when I looked in the trash and saw so many... I really love my coffee and rarely buy from Starbucks or a cafe anymore unless it’s a special little treat. I got rid of these but buying a coffee press!
-Feminine products (Sorry, TMI!) I just got my first pair of period undies from a company called THINX and I LOVE them. No more weird chemicals going in my body and no more waste going in the trash!
-Chipsticks: we eat a LOT of sushi and I sprung for a pair to keep around the house. (Kept a few of the wooden ones just because occasionally they come in handy for non food related things. The other day I used them to unclog the tub drain lol)
-Dryer sheets: I never used these before but I now have some wool balls and I dab a little scented oil on one when I put them in the dryer. Cuts down on drying time and makes my clothes soft and nice smelling.
What items have you switched out?
(Edited to add items I had forgotten about)
