I'm a writer, and ever so often I receive queries for rush orders, or bulk orders. "We need 2000 words daily minimum, and we need 3 4000-word articles finished this week! They need to be perfect!"
A recent query of this nature got me thinking. The pay is usually terrible, but let's forget about that for a minute. I'm wondering what it's like to be someone who regularly takes up orders like these, or has a demanding job. Who works late, works hard, and all in all dedicates their life to work - to earning more money.
Of course, r/simpleliving's followers probably aren't pros at this, but the thing is, most of us weren't always the way we are. I know I wasn't. So - those of you who prioritize(d) work above mental health, leisure and happiness - what was it like? Is it as bad as we think it is? If you switched from one to the other, would the change feel drastic?
