Gonna try to sum this up and I thank you in advance for reading through!

I am 28 and have made the big decision to move to Spain where my fiancé is from and currently lives. She has a good teaching job there and is going back for her masters and I need a change. She is “the one” and after meeting her family, I know that it will be the right move and the start of a fresh chapter in my life! However, i have nothing holding me back like family but I have some debt here from crummy circumstances. I have a car that I financed and am under on. I am planning on voluntarily surrendering and understand I may still owe the remainder, I have 2 credit cards that I owe about $8k on and a separate $5k personal loan. I also have student loans I have not paid yet. Up until now, money has been tight but I always make my payments on time and my credit history is decent as of this time. I will not have a job when I arrive where I will be waiting for our marriage papers to go through and after a 3 month process, I will be able to live and work legally in Spain. We have worked with a lawyer and a few public offices there to confirm we are going about it the right way.

My concern is my debt here. Once I get a job and complete my TEFL course so I can teach English there, I plan on making payments every month by transferring money back to my online account here. I only have about $2k in savings at the moment so money is tight. I was planning on keeping that money in my accounts here for the auto payments so it’ll hold me over while I look for an under the table job when I move until I can get a legal contracted job.

Just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation, and or, may have any input or advice.

Thank you for reading all the way through.
