Hi guys,I am fitting our kitchen at the moment from fully demo'd room. We've fit the cabinets, wall and base cabs, and I'm just putting the finishing touches on before cutting the worktops and fitting these at the weekend. I'm thinking ahead a little now, eventually we will be fitting laminate flooring sometime after Christmas. The sub floor is concrete, good condition and doesn't have any moisture problems. The whole ground floor is the same. The plan is to install laminate flooring after Christmas: water proof membrane, then underlay, then laminate flooring. My plan is to only install laminate up to the kickers for the base cabs, just slightly under but not under the legs. This was the plan because I don't want to have base cabs standing on the floating flooring (expansion issues) and also save £££.My question is though, do I need to fit the water proof membrane all the way up to the wall, under the cabs? If not, then directly under the cabs will be bare concrete sub floor, will this be ok? Anything else I should be aware of that I'm not thinking of now? Like I said, concrete floor is in really good condition - we had a special moisture reading taken when we bought the place which came up fine.Cheers! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2QEu83h
