Hello everyone. I’ve been a longtime lurker of this subreddit but never got around to posting until now.

I completed my first year of dental school and a small portion of second year. I failed almost all of my classes one quarter and I am now on a medical leave of absence. In order to return, I must have medical clearance. Although I have questioned whether or not I truly enjoy dentistry, because I was pretty miserable while in school. I’m also currently 100k in student loans.

I’m working as an afterschool and weekend tutor for high school students making upwards of $31/hr, working only ~20 hours each week. It’s not much, which is why I’m also a Lyft driver in my free time.

I have a degree in Biochemistry.

I feel completely lost and am not sure whether or not I want to return to school, or to just have a change in professions working either as a teacher or something related to my degree.

Any sincere help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
