We looked online but couldn't find a straight answer. His company is building at a large job site that will take approx 1.5yrs to complete. He needs to be there 3-5days per week. It is 56mi from the office and 74mi from our house. Yes, it's a LOT of driving. In rush hour in a metro area. We are trying to make the best of the situation with his mileage reimbursement. His work will not reimburse, but we know there is a way with taxes. This is going to put roughly 40,000mi on his car, which already has 120,000mi on it since 2012. How would he go about getting this reimbursement at the end of the next year, and how should he keep records?
