Not sure if this is the right sub, so if there's a proper one for this situation, please let me know. I live in SoCal and our local ISP is Spectrum. A couple of days ago I was on my ISP's website and noticed that they offered a package for new customers at 400 Mb/s for $65/mo. We currently pay the same price but only get 100 Mb/s. I talked to customer service and they said that we'd have to pay $90/mo to get the equivalent service (loyalty isn't a thing for them, I take it). What are my options? A friend suggested I cancel the service for the current account in my mother's name and make a new one in my name, but would they be able to tell and block my plan? Let me know if there's any more information I can provide.
