I found a house for rent for $595 per month on Craigslist . That is ridiculously cheap but the house isn’t anything special so it’s not completely unbelievable. I emailed the guy about it and he sent back a longish response saying he was unsuccessful selling the house and is moving to Nevada for a church mission trip and just wants his house maintained and cleaned regularly. He requested information as part of an application but nothing sensitive like SSN or DL#. It seems harmless at first glance. But he says there is a for sale sign out front that can be disregarded since it’s no longer for sale and he probably won’t be back for a while so I’m assuming he’d have to send the keys to me. Any way to find out if this is a scam or not??
[edit] considering you all know pretty much all of the details of this I think it’s safe to say this is a scam. It’s funny how easy it is to spot after reading your comments. Thank you all
