I know Americans tend to commute far more than other countries which is unfortunate, but looking for everyones perspective. I'm currently looking for a new job and right now split a $1650 a month 2br apartment so $825ish a month for rent for me and I'm 15-20 minutes away from where my current and new job would be.
However, circumstances have arisen where I could move an hour away and live for free for an indefinite amount of time. Would you normally take 7-8+ hours extra a week driving to and from work for free rent/to save almost $700-800 a month (after gas)? Probably not many jobs in the new area, or not as good experience for a recent grad is why I'm assuming the job location must stay the same.
