Short background: kids with ex husband who is not in the country and does not provide support for multiple children. Remarried. I make half as much as my spouse and my bills are twice the amount (daycare and other child related bills). I'm questioning whether our 50/50 bill split is fair. Regardless of the children (and my expenses) I feel the expenses should be prorated based on what we are earning. I've raised this with him several times but we continue with the 50/50 arrangement. Has anyone else been in this situation? How would you split bills/expenses?
TL;DR is a 50/50 bill split fair when one spouse is earning half the amount of the other?
