My wife and I had 3 options: Give up the espresso habit (but then we would need to find another reason to continue living), continue to spend $30 to $40 per week on our habit, or find a frugal solution.

I found an espresso machine that was used in a model home, it may have been turned on but was never used to make a drink. According to the wirecutter, which is my go-to for finding quality products, it is one of the best entry-level home use machines. New, it costs $300, so I am already saving $100. Instead of $4.50 per drink (including tip), I am spending $0.75 in coffee and the cost of the milk.

I figure our break-even is approximately 2 months of use. I am feeling both decadent and frugal. I live in the best of both worlds.
