https://ift.tt/2lUOtDK installed a new pool and due to the limited size of our yard and the township setbacks for my property I was forced to install the pool fairly close to our driveway/fence. To do this we had to dig down a few feet for the pool and we also ended up digging down a bit further to install an electrical line and water to the garage, which is now filled to close to the appropriate level in the area in question. The electrical conduit pictured is the old line and will be removed once the landscaping is closer to completed and the real line is hooked to live power. The question is how to handle this area beside the pool as the ground is all clay and water pools up there. I was thinking of setting down some patio block and filling with some kind of small stone to at least prevent a muddy mess, however there is also the question of the cliff I've now created beside the driveway. One of the fence poles is already a bit loose and I don't want to leave a dirt cliff there or fill dirt against my pool wall (as I imagine that's bad for it). I was considering some type of retaining wall or concrete structure, but there isn't a lot of room there and I want to hear everyone's ideas to keep me from somehow destroying my whole yard. There's not really a way to setup much of a drainage situation there as that part of the yard is now very close to level with the lowest portions of my yard which themselves are right beside a vinyl fence that separates my neighbors property from mine.I will be putting a deck over this whole situation next summer, so the aesthetics don't have to be amazing, but basically prevent any bad situation from occurring and still leave the area somewhat accessible if something were to go south with a pool wall or something. Thanks for any suggestions! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2IR1Spp
