Four months ago I sold my i7 processor on eBay. It was fully functioning and in great condition. I ended up selling it to a guy in China. Things went without a hitch and the money ended up going into my paypal and shortly into my bank, and the buyer got the processor.
Fast forward to two months later when I have a claim opened against me saying, “bad!!! not the same as picture”. Apparently that evidence was all PayPal needed to open a claim. I provided receipts, pictures of the processor inside the box I sent to the seller hoping they would side with me. Nope, I lost and they forced me to return the processor and removed the $245 from my PayPal. I called PayPal saying I know it was the correct processor, but they said I had to take it back.
Ten days later I received the package and low and behold it was a completely different processor in different packaging. The processor was also not functioning so it’s like the buyer used PayPal to get a free upgrade on his broken processor.
Thinking it would be easy to win an appeal in my case I took pictures of the lesser tier non working processor and submitted. I lost that appeal as well.
Getting angry at this point I called and complained to PayPal once again and they reopened the case and mentioned the buyer would have 10 days to submit proof I sent the wrong item. I don’t know what they sent, but I lost again.
I called PayPal back once again fuming and asking to speak with a manager, but they wouldn’t let me. However, this time I spoke to a very helpful worker who asked that I go to IC3.gov and submit a claim and send a copy to them. I ended up doing so and won my claim against the scam artist last night. I feel so relived.
I wanted to share on here so hopefully I can help someone out there who thinks PayPal is doing nothing for them even though you were wronged. It doesn’t matter what amount is, if you feel like you were scammed or robbed then don’t give up until you get your money back! Lastly, remember fuck PayPal.
