I have been renting a house ($425 a month) with my mother for three years. I don't mind living with my mother (I am asexual and have no plans on ever dating or having kids). We get along fine. We both work and earn around average for the area. I have been at my new job for 6mos and I love it.
Personally, I have $5,000 in savings. I have several student loans and a car payment but they are all well managed. My credit score is 807 according to CreditWise.
We live in rural Oklahoma so cost of living is fairly low. The house we live in is 1300 sq ft (two bed, one bath, fenced backyard). My mom has been wanting to buy it because it would cost around $40,000 and then we could work on fixing it up (new pipes, update the kitchen, etc).
I am a bit more unsure about the decision. I plan on living in this town for at least 5 more years while I get more experience at my job (production planning).
