So, I've had two down pillows that have lasted me for decades. The loft had gone out of them years ago, but they're so pliable and soft that they still worked perfectly. I give them a bleach wash twice a year. When they come out of the drier, they're nicely puffed up but still fall flat when I sleep on them. I don't mind that, though, I don't need a lot of head support and what little they provide was perfect.
Today was not a good day. I washed them and discovered that the sacks ripped. Now I have a washer full of of damp down bits. I'd love to get a new pillow sack and stuff them in, but have no idea if such a thing exists. Failing that, how can I replace them with a pillow that is equally soft and thin? Every pillow I see on line touts how puffy they are. What to do?
