I've been day trading for the past year and was looking to change brokers. I had my eyes on E trade for a while but apparently they no longer have e trade pro available and switched over to optionhouse. Which I am not a fan of. When I asked customer service about a simple level 2 quote they said optionhouse doesn't provide it... Which had me completely mindblown. They said they can still set me up for e trade pro but informed me that they are planning on completely removing it by the end of the year...
I've also been using the think or swim platform for charts and quotes and I've become very comfortable with the layout and actually really like it. However my main concern with them is that I witnessed a whole system freeze for a good hour around 10:00AM towards beginning of june. I was in an overnight play that gapped up 60% and was relying on think or swim for technical analysis. However TD ameritrade froze for a whole hour and had half the chat room I was monitoring completely fcked, unable to sell. when system started working again the stock was trading red. I googled more about it and apparently td ameritrade had an incident like this happen 3+ times already this year.... That's a serious disaster im not willing to invite.
I am looking for a broker I can stick with for a long period of time, with fast executions, small commission fees, and most importantly looking for one that is good at finding shares to short. I have not had a real broker besides robinhood and would love to hear any opinions or comments on your choice of broker or one that fits my criterias. Any response will be appreciated.
