We got a lot of pumpkins after Halloween and processed and frozen them last year. When our aging dog needed pain meds it was going to run about 100 a month. She is now trading 30-40 bags of treats per month. Most of the cost is labor and love. We use all natural peanut butter, pumpkin, eggs, and other flavors and make huge batches once a week. The vet loves them and one lady bought 4 bags @ 5 dollars because her dog was refusing to eat unless he got his treat. Our dogs are super spoiled now and beg for treats 3x a day. We just package them in brown paper lunch sacks with an ingredients, date, and cute name for each type. She has now got about 5 cookie cutters, big bones, little bones, little stars, mustaches, and little circle treats. We also have some silicon baking molds to form the bones before cooking a huge batch. So far so good my wife wanted to expand to another vet, but I asked her to perfect the process here then maybe consider it. Her last order was 20 bags of 35 treats.
