If you plan on having two people on the policy, your price depends on the credit score info of the "primary" person.

My SO and I are doing our annual quote shopping for homeowners insurance, and for one of the quotes, it was $785 per year if my name + birthday was used, and if her name + birthday is used, it's $537.

The same exact coverage and other information. We both have zero claims the last 5 years.

My credit karma shows 701, hers 738. Because her score is higher than mine she uses her info when looking for auto insurance quotes for us as well. It's more expensive to use my name first and her name second.

In the end we're both on the policy.

TL;DR apply for insurance with your info, then your significant others info, the price difference may surprise you.
