I am wondering whether it's legal to contribute. My company lets me do in plan conversion of post tax contributions to ROTH IRA.

Scenario 1:

Roth IRA in my name - $5500

Roth IRA in my wife's name - $5500 . (Wife isn't working for now)

Mega Backdoor Post-tax IRA to ROTH - $10000.

Scenario 2:

Roth IRA in my name - $5500

Roth IRA in my wife's name - $5500 . (Wife isn't working for now)

Mega Backdoor Post-tax IRA to ROTH - $25000.

Scenario 3:

Roth IRA in my name - $5500

Roth IRA in my wife's name - $5500 . (Wife isn't working for now)

Mega Backdoor Post-tax IRA to ROTH - $36000.

Does the Mega Backdoor limits $36,000 include the normal Roth Contribution too? Is Scenario 1 and Scenario 2 okay?
