My company has two systems for salary and hourly employees to track/request theirs PTO's and they're Workday and ADP. I'm being switched from salaried to hourly full-time employee because my band level (4) is too low to track/request PTO on the Workday system. Now, I'm being switch to hourly so that I can track/request PTO on the ADP system.

This problem arises when I was trying to request PTO back in April and there wasn't an option for me to request time off so I talked with my manager and he contacted HR and worked things out for me. The solution to this from HR is to switch me from salaried to hourly. From what I understand from my last meeting with my manager two weeks ago, all my benefits stay as it is and the only thing that changed is now I have to enter my time going in&out of work, which is a fuc**ng drag but whatever since he said I'm able to clock overtime if I work over 40 hours.

I don't think this is a "demotion" since I just started working this year after college and it's not performance issue either. Is this a bad/good thing? What should I expect? Thanks.
