I had trouble finding new information about this program so figured I'd share what the new program consists of, at least for us, for anyone searching for detailed info.
We absolutely thought of it as a scam when we joined. It really seemed too good to be true. A lady drove up, only house on block really, and asked my wife if she was interested, $100 card for her time, as she was getting out of car with kids to go inside. My wife blew her off thinking it was a scam asking her to return another day. She told me about it and I was sceptical. The lady returned a few days later and confirmed everything and my wife did it but was nervous she messed up and it was a scam.
We were given a $100 gift card per person for joining, activated within 7 days. A $100 gift card just for listening to the pitch, took like 2 hours to listen and register.
The kids, 2 and up, have to wear meters from wake up to sleep and store them on a charger. You get points each day that add up each week and enter you into sweepstakes if you hit minimums. No matter what you get a weekly allowance from them, per person of between 2.50-5.00. You get a monthly bonus as well of 2.50-5.00. You also get a 90 day and 1 year bonus of 50-100.
If you have a large family, like in my case, this is an extra 100-150 a moth, for simply wearing a meter. Not counting the 500 up front. And 250 bonus at the 90 day mark.
Not sure how it's different per market. I do live in California.
Just a heads up that if you get spoken to about this opportunity in person, validate who they are, it might be a great opportunity for some extra funds.
