Hi!
So quick question. I filed my tax return on time, and was expected to get my refund direct deposited in my bank today.
Woke up this morning and I had a direct deposit of $28 in my account. I filed with Turbo Tax so I called them and the woman said it seems like maybe my refund is offset, which kinda made sense because I have student loans roughly around $2,000 that have been outstanding for a few years- but my refund was only $1,992 so I don’t know why they wouldn’t have just taken all of it?
However, I called the FMS (?) hotline and put in my social with their automated system and they said there are no offsets with my SSN.
Anyone have any advice on what happened or what I should do?
