Over the past few days it has been determined the gas line in my yard is leaking. I have a home warranty but the fine print does not cover things in the yard. The gas company doesn't care if you have the funds to fix the line they have to pull the meter, which I understand. It will cost me 1200 dollars to have a new line installed. If it wasn't for my emergency fund I'm not sure how long I would have to go without hot water. I have a 2 month old who goes through tons of bottles and cloths that all need to be washed. I don't want to pay this but my emergency fund allows me to without giving up other billsto pay for a plastic line in my yard. If you don't have a fund it should be your first priority you have no idea when something will come up that is very expensive. Time to start building up my savings again!
