I work in gaming, and will be interviewing for a Director-level position at a medium-sized (large for the industry) publicly-traded Canadian company. This position would be a step up for me in my career, as I would be moving from middle-management at a large studio (and previously Director-level work at very small studios). Seeing the job description, I can say that I match what they are looking for perfectly.
I was recently reached out to by their HR head, and she informed me they would love to see me apply, so I have. I would, however, be moving to this location from abroad.
I am familiar with this company and their work, and would love to work on their projects. However, if offered the position, I would not know the intricacies of negotiating for a Director level role at a company of this magnitude. I'm not very good at gauging what an appropriate salary or compensation package would be for a role of this level, as they vary so greatly in this industry. Nor do I know if I should also be negotiating for other perks/benefits (such as stock options, company car, signing bonus, and etc).
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
