We're trying to install a glass splashguard for the bath and so we need to drill some 6mm diameter holes through these tiles which are 'fine stoneware' and about 10mm thick. I did some research and got a Carbide tipped drill bit, but it took hours to make even a few millimeters progress, and it ruined the drillbit as well, even while using water to lubricate and cool the tip.We then asked the guy installing the tiles in the kitchen to have a go with his bigger drill and he could only get through with the hammer setting, but it's cracked one of the tiles already. He also melted his drillbit and gave up. Does anyone have any advice?? via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2IosJwD
