Hello, I am a 27 year old male in the military and will be transitioning to being a civilian in a month. I am getting medically retired, got my back injured pretty bad. I wanted to see if I could garner some advice/suggestions or improvements on my situation from the folks here. I have currently $43,000 in savings. I will have medical insurance from the military. I plan on going to school this fall to finish my undergrad, I had 73 credits prior to joining the military and am looking at two to three years of schooling left. I plan on going to New York City for schooling and am hoping to utilize the most out of the educational benefits from the military. I am single but plan on living with cousins in New York to minimize the costs there. I plan on studying Computer Science. My primary goal is to use the savings that I have to secure a financially stable career. But beyond that I have no idea what on to do with it. I have never been good with finances beyond just saving money. I was hoping some kind folks from here could share some knowledge with me. Thank you very much. Any replies would be most appreciated.
