i just turned 18 yesterday and coincidentally, i was cleaning out my closet tonight and found gas bills from 2007 when i was 6-7 years old. they had my name on the bill. not sure if my mom has done this with other bills besides gas. she hasn't done this with my brother who is 3 years older then me because he has great credit
does this mean i will be stuck with having to pay it? bill was around $1300
is my credit ruined?
is this identity theft?
how can i check my credit to see if there is damage?
is there anyway i can get the debt removed without getting my mother in legal trouble?
even though she used my name, does that mean she had to use my social security number as well?
etc. etc. dumb questions but would love as much info as possible. i am located in nj!
