So I posted recently about coming into some monies for my birthday on the 19th, and how I wanted a spice rack so that I could really spice up my simple meals. The overwhelming response was to just buy a rack and separately purchase the herbs and spices according to what I used the most - which is a great idea! I never thought it'd be cheaper to buy them individually but now that I think about it, I'm right next to a winco that sells herbs and spices in bulk for very cheap. Awesome! Got some jars and I'm ready for some spicy excitement. Here are my thoughts for typically used shtuff that I should have that I don't currently have:
-cumin
-dried basil
-dried parsley
-tumeric
-curry powder
-paprika
-thyme
-garam masala
-oregano
-rosemary
-sumac
I currently have:
-lemon pepper
-chili powder
-garlic salt
-onion powder
-extremely old dry basil
-cayenne
-cajun
So am I missing anything you would consider a staple for spicing up cheaper meals?
