http://ift.tt/2HGDPJy /r/DIYWe just realized the space between our shower wall tiles and the base has a gap in between (see photos). There seems to have been some mold buildup on the past. It’s roughly the width of my finger, 1/2 to 3/4th inch. It seems the previous owner tried to seal it with white cement or some sort of grout. But it’s cracking up and falling down. And since this is inside the shower, it’s exposing drywall to extreme moisture. We’re in the PNW, so this is definitely going to get worse next winter.I’d like to fill up this gap, but not sure what’s the most reliable way to do it. The goal is to get a waterproof seal so that no moisture leaks into the drywall. I’ve been told to put a small piece of tile to fill this gap, but it seems a little too narrow for that. Should I fill it with mortar, grout or some sort of caulk? Or perhaps a combination of layers of these things?Pease advise. Thanks in advance!Ady via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2plJ0H9
