Questions first:

  • what are stupid mistakes i should avoid, (especially mistakes that come from doing/changing nothing). This is the main reason why i'm posting/asking this.

  • what are important steps i should take to improve the situation further in the future?

I'm in the EU, but you can ignore the $/€ conversion rate i think.

I'm a student, and i'm in not one but three very lucky major situations that i'm very glad of:

  • I'm in the EU, so i have very little insurance cost, studying cost, etc. (university fees are ~$60/year)

  • I have 0 debt, because my parents help out with studying/living-costs. (~$800/Month)

  • As of recently, i have ~$100k from my grandparents. That sum is in stocks, etfs, mostly long-term instruments, just sitting there.

Background/about me: Fairly normal student otherwise, 21, studying, should be finished with my bachelors in ~2years. Major city (~4m people). Studying a STEM-field thing. Have some money in a savings account (~$2000). I pay $420/month for a lovely shared apartment, which is very affordable in my city. In the past two years, i bought the appliances furniture etc for the shared flat (~$3000), payed for from my regular monthly budget, and i get $120/month1 for that from the flatmates. I don't have a regular job right now but had until recently(~400/month) and i'm looking for one too(also ~400/month). I have a small thing on the side where i draw stuff for people, but that is very irregular, (~$0-100/month).

I don't know what additional information is relevant.
