I'm upper class, but I have no interest in wasting money on petty pleasures like a 12 dollar drink.
Often I'll tell my friends-
"Whatever is cheaper, the only thing I like more than good X, is a good deal."
"I'm saving 1,000,000 dollars so I can start a financial institution, whatever is cheap"
This has been a quick assertive way to go to social events, but often forgoes the expensive hipster presentation fee. I think my friends secretly like it too.
I'm sure this depends on who your friends are and your own personality, but what kinda frugal phrases do you say?
