Hello BIFL,
I purchased a pair of black Dr. Martens boots (The tag on the inside of the shoe reads boston aw004) back in early 2000s. I've taken very good care of them, and they still look fantastic, but the sole is starting to wear. For the most part, the tread under the ball of my foot is starting to become flat.
I'm looking to replace these boots, with something comparable. I recall I purchased these shoes for about $100 back then, and would like to remain within that price point (perhaps $150)? I've read online that the new Dr. Martens are nowhere near as durable as the older ones. Is this accurate? Is there something I should be looking for? Are the buy it for life Dr Martens worth the money?
I realize there are some threads here already, and I've read through most of it, but am still no closer to a decision. Can you guys help me find a pair of black boots that look somewhat professional?
Thank you.
