House was built ~ 1956 though I assume the fascia was replaced at some point to date. We previously had rusted gutters up there which we pulled off, leaving it as you can see below.Pictures of current conditionI'd like to sand down the wood part of the fascia a bit to smooth out the surface, but then I need to figure out how to cover it in either vinyl or aluminum to give a bit more protection and a cleaner look. The very top is ~ 2" aluminum, then its roughly 5" of wood. The wood is ~ 1" recessed from the aluminum strip at the top.Would a simple L shape fascia work to cover the wood and tuck under the bottom? or should I find one that can tuck under the top aluminum as well, covering the 1" recess? I poked around at Lowes/Home Depot for a bit but wasn't able to find a panel that seemed to be the right size/shape for my application.Any ideas? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2EakF0q
