I was in the process of setting up internet today, and the online portal gave me no set-up times available until next week. I really needed it done tomorrow so I called ATT to see what they could do. Not only were they able to schedule the set up to be tomorrow, they are sending me a $100 visa gift card, whereas setting it up online I was going to only get $50 gift card.
When I set up my electricity plan the other day, I called the line instead of setting it up online and the rates they gave me were better than what it showed online as well.
Always call! It is worth the extra 5 minutes of having to talk with someone and at worst, the deal will be the same as the online promotion.
