So I broke my laptop of 5 years. I gave my laptop to my younger sibling a while back after I got my desktop. They broke it 6 months ago and I recently took it back to repair it since I needed something portable. Unfortunately I thought the system was fried since it was acting up. So last week I rinsed it in the bathroom to see how murky it can get since it was pretty much going to be recycled. After letting it dry for 3 days, I thought I give one last hope to the laptop today and I tried to fix it again for the last time. And it worked! Regrettably the keyboard are short circuited. Fyi a light brown color rinsed out.
I'm looking to buy something for light academic purposes but I just need the extra performances to open quite a few tabs. Should I stick to buying a cheap dedicated laptop or are microprocessors powerful enough that choosing between the three (tablet laptop, 2-in-1 laptop, regular laptop) negligible?
I have not bought any electronics since 2012 so please give me a break.
