I currently work in Philly, but live in DE. I asked to be transferred to my firm’s DE office, and the compromise that was eventually agreed to is I work three days a week in DE and two days a week in Philly. This will save me $204 monthly on a train pass, and for the days I travel to Philly, I will get reimbursed for the train fare those days.
As I work full time in Philly now, I pay Philly city tax, which comes to about $110 a month. The woman in charge of payroll says she can’t advise where to say whether I work out of Philly it DE. I’d prefer to say I work out of DE to avoid the city wage tax. Does anyone know if that’s ultimately acceptable legally? To work 3 days to 2 days, DE vs Philly, and calling DE my home base?
