I'm 80% through a remodel/repair, I'll spare you the details of a rupture sewer line under the slab.I've finished all the restoration except the floor and was getting a hardwood floor installed. However the installer measured the concrete moister and his meter said 1% which is apparently very high. This doesn't surprise me I'm at the low point of the block and I can assume there is standing water under the slab.Seems I don't have a lot of options. Without a moister barrier the hardwood would absorb the moister and could swell and split. With a moister barrier I could get mold under the barrier, or the moister will come out the edges and the molding and framing can wick up the moister and then mold.Just looking for other opinions. I have what the installer told me. I've tried to google it but just run into basement waterproofing sites. They recommended vinyl but I really don't want vinyl. It had carpet before and that was no problem until the sewer line ruptured.Just to be clear even though the meter shows 1% its feels dry to the touch. I know its not dry just saying there is no moister issue as long as its allowed to breath. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2BTv9gW
