My spouse and I are looking to travel for a short time in January. We have between 2 and 3 weeks and approximately 3k Canadian as our budget, which needs to include flights.
Our primary goal is to find a place where we can come to rest and unplug completely. We don't want internet, cell phones, noise, bustle. We instead need nature, calm vibes, sun, warmth, healthy food, and generally a place where we can do nothing if we want for the whole time. A bit of hiking, yoga, swimming, meditation, living very simply for 2-3 weeks.
Our preference would be to fly into one place and then use it as our base for the trip, taking side trips if we want.
We're based around Vancouver, Canada. SE Asia seems too far from us, but maybe not? We're thinking central or south america, but we have no idea as to where really.
TLDR; If anyone's had a good experience with a small town off the beaten track...let us know!
Thanks :)
