This to me seems like an incredibly sensitive topic to be frugal with, I feel the social stigma around an affordable ring is definitely looked down upon but nonetheless I need to ask. I would hate to be ripped off, and everyone and their mother seems to know a "trustworthy" friend in the jewelry business. How did your experience go?
Has anyone opted for a lab created diamond? I hear they run 20-40% cheaper than natural diamonds and are impossible to differentiate.
Also what is a solid ballpark number to actually spend on a ring? I've heard anywhere between $2k to 3 months salary.
Any and all tips would be appreciated!
