Dear Frugs:
This board has been a service to me over and over, so thank you. My nature and upbringing is r/Wastefulaf, so being able to turn to this board has been a boon.
Now I have my first direct question: I am about to begin an expensive move, from the east coast to California; any of the sage and tested advice you Frugalians might have is welcome.
Details: We’ve sold or given away all of the stuff we were willing to part with and are left with about a one bedroom apartment’s worth of stuff— to be tediously specific: Queen bed and box spring, credenza, 2 dressers, a trunk, a diningroom table, approx. 20 boxes.
We will have to put it in storage when it arrives as we are staying with family while shopping for a house.
We would prefer not to drive it ourselves, but we are able to pack and unpack it ourselves.
Any and all recommendations, tricks, advice and warnings are welcome.
As a nod to the ethos of the board, here is surely the most representative band, singing about California and surrender.
Thanks in advance!
