On Friday Nov 17, 2017, i got 4 email alerts about hard inquiries made by 4 creditors. I panicked because i didnt authorise those. I reached out individually to these companies of which the cancelled the application that were placed with them. . I found out later from one of the companies that the main applicant was my ex-gf. Now, i wasnt really surprised because prior to getting the inquiry alerts, my ex-gf contacted me stating she needed my SSN and copy of my drivers license to take my name off her car insurance with state farm. I personally called State farm of which they said she didnt have insurance with them. . I have notified the credit bureaus of which Experian has deleted those hard inquiries on my report. transunion too are in the process of doing so.they have placed a fraud security on my credit report for added security also . . I did send an e-mail to her to loose my ssn ,contact details etc and that if any unauthorised inquiry is made, i will lodge a police report. . I did go to the police office to report the incidence and they did say if i officially report the fraud, it will be investigated and she will be arrested. . Should i go ahead and lodge the report and have her arrested? What other issues may i be facing? We were together from jan 2016 to sept 2016.
