Hello all,
I'm writing this from my first ever smartphone that's about two years old and starting to glitch.
After jumping on the smartphone bandwagon, I really appreciate:
-
how much more I read because it cuts down in trips to the library and is easy to carry
-
being able to call an Uber if I start feeling sick and need a ride home
-
being able to check directions when I'm out of town without whipping out a map and marking myself as a clueless tourist aka target
-
being able to use wifi or data assisted apps to call or text family overseas
-
not having to start up my computer for email, blogging, videos, whatever
-
the app that lets me lookup nearby campgrounds when I go on my family's semi annual unplanned road trips
-
camera
Here's what I don't love:
-
shitty battery that I'm dependent on
-
weird voicemail system
-
adds and funky formatting
-
the cost of cell phone plans
I wish I could go back to my dumb phone but I really love all my library and ereader apps as well as google maps and travel apps. I dont have games and tons of social media and stuff on my phone (besides Reddit). I'm good aboutnusing it as a tool, but it's kind of expensive.
Is there like an iPod touch that comes with a small/cheap data plan or something? If not, it's simpler for me to keep my smartphone but I do miss my dumbphone
